Blacksmith, founded in 2024, has achieved an annualized revenue run rate (ARR) of $10 million with just 10 employees and has since grown its workforce to 30 while achieving 'tens of millions of dollars' in ARR.
Over the past year, the company has scaled from 700 to 5,000 customers, including notable clients like Mercury, Supabase, Clerk, Ashby, and Expensify.
The startup recently raised $45 million in a Series B round led by Peak XV Partners, valuing Blacksmith at $550 million, up from a $60 million valuation less than a year prior.
Blacksmith is competing by speeding up code testing and offering affordability, addressing the growing demand for validating rapid AI-generated code and expanding its platform with products like Codesmith, an AI coding agent for automated code fixes.
