Firecrawl announced a $75M Series B funding round led by Smash Capital, with participation from Altos Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand Alexandria, their newly launched platform aimed at enabling AI agents to efficiently access and use structured and unstructured knowledge from diverse sources such as the live web, official providers, and custom-built indexes.

Alexandria promises to enhance AI applications by improving data retrieval, offering broader coverage, and incentivizing contributors—individuals, publishers, and organizations—to provide knowledge by compensating them when their information is used.

Firecrawl's existing user base exceeds 1.5 million, underscoring substantial adoption and relevance in the AI ecosystem.

The expansion of Alexandria also aims to improve AI answer quality, with internal testing showing a 21% increase over other web tools.
